Why She’s a Semifinalist: You probably won’t be surprised to hear that Sullivan does a little modeling, but her main occupation is crunching numbers for an insurance company. “I’m a numbers girl,” she says. She’s also a family girl, the mother of two children (one girl, one boy) and wife to singer-songwriter Hunter Sullivan. “Our family listens to all kinds of music, and we expose our children to all genres.” Another hobby of the couple is giving back to local charities, and Turtle Creek Recovery Center and Family Gateway top their list of favorites. And though one of her favorite belongings is her make-up, she says she’d make it in the wilderness if necessary. “I grew up in the country, so we were taught survival skills.”

How We Picked The Semifinalists: We solicited nominations through www.dmagazine.com, plus we threw in our own candidates. After looking through hundreds of nominations, and interviewing dozens of women, D Magazine editors narrowed the pool down to 20 semifinalists.
