Why She’s a Semifinalist: Her heart is as beautiful as her pretty face. She’s the president of Linking the World, a worldwide aid organization made up of feeding programs, medical clinics, schools, and disaster response teams. Philanthropy is in her blood. Both parents are retired Salvation Army commanding officers, and her childhood included traveling to other countries to help relieve suffering. Now she’s introduced that life to her own child, a 6-year-old daughter. “She’s on her second passport and considers people all over the world her friends,” she says. There's also been plenty of international flavor to Chang's other career, as a singer performing in both Korean and English.
Fun Fact: With all the world travel, you might be surprised to discover her favorite place to eat is New Orleans. “You walk around eating comfort food, all fried and spicy.”

How We Picked The Semifinalists: We solicited nominations through www.dmagazine.com, plus we threw in our own candidates. After looking through hundreds of nominations, and interviewing dozens of women, D Magazine editors narrowed the pool down to 20 semifinalists.
