Why She’s a Semifinalist: She’s bounced around the country a bit (born in New Orleans, raised in Euless, a short stint in New Jersey), but she’s glad to call Texas home again. Hobbies include dining around the city (Hotel ZaZa’s Dragonfly and Ocean Prime are favorites) and running. In fact, she just completed a half-marathon in May. She’s also a fan of entertaining at home, which allows her to brush up on her cooking skills and invite over friends and family. Bucket list to-dos include participating in a flash mob, shooting a 3-point shot during a basketball game, and starting her own business. Her favorite charity is Big Brothers Big Sisters, which she discovered through her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha. She still keeps in touch with her “little” from her college days.
Fun Fact: Wilson’s guilty pleasure is tequila. “I can’t live without my Bible, but I love me some tequila.”

How We Picked The Semifinalists: We solicited nominations through www.dmagazine.com, plus we threw in our own candidates. After looking through hundreds of nominations, and interviewing dozens of women, D Magazine editors narrowed the pool down to 20 semifinalists.
