Why She’s a Semifinalist: She may have been born in South Korea, but Mullenix is definitely a Texas girl, having lived in Dallas-Fort Worth since the age of 4. You can catch her out in the nightlife scene—she tends bar at Shinsei and Lounge 31—but she also knows how to get zen: she’s certified to teach yoga. When it’s not downward dogs and deep breaths, it’s traveling she loves most. “That’s why I work so much,” she says.
