Why She’s a Semifinalist: It’s hard not to smile around this cheerful blonde. She’s president of her own accounts receivable management company, but even the stresses of a new business don’t seem to get her down. She been married for 13 years, with two children and a stepson, and thinks the best part of parenting is “getting to live your childhood twice.” The family spends time biking around White Rock Lake, ice skating, and shopping. “Momma likes to shop, and Daddy likes to shop, so it’s kind of a family affair,” she says. So is philanthropy, and she and her husband are co-chairing the Texas Trailblazer Awards Luncheon this year for the Family Place, her local charity of choice.
Fun Fact: The Wards go-to date night place is Terilli’s, where they had their first date. There’s even a brick there that commemorates the event.

How We Picked The Semifinalists: We solicited nominations through www.dmagazine.com, plus we threw in our own candidates. After looking through hundreds of nominations, and interviewing dozens of women, D Magazine editors narrowed the pool down to 20 semifinalists.
