Why She’s a Semifinalist: She says some friends call her “the dorky one” and some friends call her “the Southern one.” Let’s trade “dorky” for “smarty pants.” The SMU finance major is currently enjoying an internship at a hedge fund, but looking forward to her last year in school. She may not be Dallas born and raised, but she says she’s becoming more of a Texan every year. (Sorry, Tennessee!) Her two favorite things? Getting ice cream (mint chocolate chip) and running to keep herself balanced. “It’s a good time to listen to really good music and just pound it out.” With the crazy hours she keeps at her internship (waking up at 5 am) we think she needs both.

Fun Fact: Her grandmother, “Meemaw,” is her role model, and we can see why. She went to college at a time when few women did, and she’s still involved in her sorority and philanthropy work.
